Each pack of notecards has a description on the back of each card with a message from the photographer, Kathleen Greeson. She provides additional context below about her experience in Guatemala:

In 2017, the BFB Foundation asked if I would be willing to travel to Guatemala to document the girls and women the foundation supports. I didn’t think twice before saying YES! I spent a week in Guatemala documenting the villages, schools, and daily lives of these girls and what life might be like for them without an education. I was struck by the extremes I witnessed: Extreme poverty paired with the stunning scenery; the overwhelming hardships but also joy. BFB is doing amazing work and changing lives, and I am proud to present these images from Guatemala to share their mission with you. All images are available as prints and all profit from print sales goes to the BFB Foundation. Thank you for your support of this wonderful foundation and their mission to educate girls and women in developing countries.

Biography

Kathleen Greeson, founder and owner of KG Photography always had a love of documentary photography. When her cousin Jennifer Jackson, who is a BFB Foundation board member, and asked her if she would be willing to go and document the girls and women that the foundation supports in Guatemala, she did not hesitate. Her photographs are showcased throughout the website and in the foundation’s cookbook.

“I have a daughter and I support education for women so going to help was a natural fit for me. I believe photographs are powerful and especially when they tell a story and that is what I tried to do with my work in Guatemala. To document the lives of the girls, their families, their schools, and their villages.” ~ Kathleen Greeson
